Outpatient treatment often provide a progressive level of care to those completing an inpatient drug and alcohol program.  Depending on the severity of addiction, intensive outpatient treatment without the completion of an inpatient program may be appropriate for some individuals.

The intensive outpatient program at SouthCoast recovery consists of participating in three daily groups and one individual counseling session per week.  Psychotherapy is available as well as acupuncture, massage, yoga, drum circles and other holistic therapies.  An individual program can be created to fit any schedule.

On the other hand, if you’ve tried outpatient in the past and not had good long term results, you might want to take a look at other treatment options. Staying inpatient at a facility some where is just one possible route. You could also try attending 12 step meetings on a regular basis or perhaps doing some one-on-one counseling with a therapist. There are several ways to get clean and sober in the long run.

If you fail to stay sober when trying one method of treatment, consider something more intensive the next time you try to get sober. If outpatient leads you to relapse, then consider more intense treatment. If this also fails you, then you could step up to a long term facility. You get the idea.
