The traffic on
Recovery Road is pretty heavy these
days, and that's good. But a lot of
people are getting lost or falling
by the wayside, and that's not good.
Part of the problem is that there has been no real
good road map to Recovery-something that could
show people what to expect along the way.
We've tried hard to take into account individual
differences and reactions-the fact that although
all are going in the same direction, the road
isn't the same for every traveler.
If you are in treatment and reading this, then
traveling is what you are going to do! Treatment
is an introduction and will lay out an itinerary
for you.
SouthCoast is a transitional program and
will show how to avoid getting stuck in the mud of
apathy, describe to you what you can expect in
recovery, and walk you through the three distinct
phases leading from the slavery of addiction to
the freedom of sobriety.
The first steps are the hardest. After that, it's
going to get better and better, and easier and
easier. |
