What Leads to Drug Rehab

What Leads to Drug Rehab?

There is any number of events, circumstances and situations that can lead to drug rehab. For most people caught in the grip of alcoholism and drug addiction, there are usually a series of negative consequences that finally pull the blindfold off. It could be the loss of a significant relationship, loss of employment or career opportunities, loss of health or loss of freedom due to a DUI or court-mandated sentence as a result of alcohol or drug use. It’s usually a significant loss of some sort that leads someone to say, “I need help.â€

What is the bottom for one person may be a high bottom for another. Some people need to lose everything before they get help for problems with drugs and alcohol. Other people may recognize that their drinking or drug use is interfering with their relationships, work or their own personal goals and decide to get help before it gets worse. It could be a series of events that leads to drug rehab or it could be one situation that is severe enough to get your attention. For some it’s emotional and for others it’s financial. There is no one definitive sign that tells you it’s time for drug rehab. More than likely it will be the recognition either by yourself or someone else that your life is unmanageable.

What leads to drug rehab is different for everyone. At SouthCoast Recovery, we recognize that each person who comes to us for help with alcoholism or drug addiction needs an individual drug and alcohol treatment plan. This is why one of the first actions we take is to give a clinical evaluation that takes into account drug and alcohol history, background, family dynamics, emotional issues or trauma, physical ailments, or anything else that could be contributing to your drug and alcohol use. This gives us a blueprint to develop a personal treatment plan with our clinical therapist, drug and alcohol counselors and holistic practitioners so we can treat you with therapies that address mind, body and spirit renewal.

If you think that you or a loved one has a problem with alcoholism or drug addiction, don’t wait. Substance abuse doesn’t go away by itself. What leads to drug rehab just might be a friend or a loved one expressing concern. SouthCoast Recovery offers 30, 60, 90 day and 6 month residential treatment in the south Orange County harbor town of Dana Point, California.
